Reviewing the last few years of grant requests to Western, ND Community Foundations (listed below), we calculate that roughly $50-$100M Endowment is needed to sustainably meet just 40-50% of annual grant requests. Funding encourages new non-profits to launch services in our region, benefitting those in each community for years to come. Without the higher level of funding, many Community Foundations struggle to meet the needs of their service area. These needs include, but are not limited to:

• HealthCare - Personalized medical support, mental health, addiction services

• Education & Youth Services - STEM education for youth, recreational activities

• Social Service - Service to our elderly and Veterans

• Economic Empowerment - Career Readiness and VoTech training

The committees of each Community Foundation work to ensure local needs are met each year and strive to understand the “up-and-coming” projects and programs that can further improve support services within their community. Because of a lack of funding, our committees are currently only able to fund a small fraction of grant requests. Many local businesses and individuals have stepped up and made a huge impact, but we are continuing to add PARTNERS to help reach our goal of granting $100,000 annually to the Dickinson Area!
