Our Mission:

To provide high level ethical and professional support for locally based Community Foundation committees, non-profits, and other agencies who provide valuable services within each community.

We facilitate gift planning with individuals, families, companies, and financial professionals; providing up-to-date information and expertise, helping donors or potential donors discover options, the most effective way to gift, and how to fulfill their vision for giving. Conversations can take place via phone call or at an in-person meeting. Always confidential.

OVERALL GOAL

Reviewing the last few years of grant requests to Western, ND Community Foundations (listed below), we calculate that roughly $50-$100M Endowment is needed to sustainably meet just 40-50% of annual grant requests. Funding encourages new non-profits to launch services in our region, benefitting those in each community for years to come. Without the higher level of funding, many Community Foundations struggle to meet the needs of their service area. These needs include, but are not limited to:

  • HealthCare - Personalized medical support, mental health, addiction services

  • Education & Youth Services - STEM education for youth, recreational activities

  • Social Service - Service to our elderly and Veterans

  • Economic Empowerment - Career Readiness and VoTech training

The committees of each Community Foundation work to ensure local needs are met each year and strive to understand the “up-and-coming” projects and programs that can further improve support services within their community. Because of a lack of funding, our committees are currently only able to fund a small fraction of grant requests. Many local businesses and individuals have stepped up and made a huge impact, but we are continuing to add PARTNERS to help reach our goal of granting $100,000 annually to the Dickinson Area! If everyone reading this offered 5-8% of their residual, we would meet the funding goal and create a lasting impact within our community of choice. Gifts of all kinds and sizes are appreciated. What is your vision? Connect with us to create an individualized plan to meet your charitable giving goals. View DACF Grant History HERE.

“It never hurts to ask”. If you would like to give to multiple organizations, we can help with that as well. There are many schools and non-profits who have charitable component funds under our 501c3 umbrella available to accept donations. If you would like to make a donation outside of our service area, we have offices covering the state, located in Bismarck (Kara Geiger), Larimore Region (Amy Stromsodt), and Richland Wilken (Scott Nicholson). Our directors have 85+ combined years of non-profit and charitable planning expertise at your fingertips. We are happy to provide support to help you meet your charitable giving goals.
